We are looking for a motivated, hands-on professional who enjoys both technical fieldwork and customer interaction. This is a hybrid role combining instrumentation technician responsibilities with sales and customer support activities.


Position Summary

The Instrumentation Technician / Sales Support Specialist will be responsible for instrumentation startup, troubleshooting, panel and system assembly, field service support, and assisting customers with technical solutions. This individual will also support outside sales efforts by working directly with customers on-site, identifying opportunities, and helping develop long-term customer relationships.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, working independently, and growing into a larger technical sales or operations role within a growing company.


Key Responsibilities


Technical & Field Responsibilities

  • Perform startup and commissioning of water and wastewater instrumentation systems
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation, control panels, telemetry systems, and process equipment
  • Build and assemble instrumentation systems and control packages
  • Configure and test instrumentation prior to shipment or installation
  • Perform field service and on-site customer support
  • Assist customers with diagnosing operational and instrumentation issues
  • Coordinate with contractors, operators, and engineers during project startup
  • Document service activities and maintain organized records


Sales & Customer Support Responsibilities

  • Support outside sales efforts through technical customer interaction
  • Assist with customer site visits and product demonstrations
  • Help identify opportunities for additional equipment, upgrades, and services
  • Develop strong working relationships with municipal and industrial customers
  • Provide technical recommendations and application assistance
  • Support quoting and follow-up activities when needed


Qualifications

  • Experience with water/wastewater instrumentation, controls, SCADA, telemetry, or electrical systems preferred
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical drawings
  • Comfortable working both in the field and in a shop/office environment
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Self-motivated and dependable
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to travel to customer sites


Preferred Experience

  • Water/wastewater treatment plant experience
  • PLC, VFD, telemetry, or pump control experience
  • Instrumentation startup or commissioning experience
  • Industrial electrical or controls background
  • Technical sales or customer-facing experience
