The Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as instructors in Art, Cooking, and STEM. If you are excited about recreation and ready to share your expertise with the community, we would love to hear from you!
Our instructors engage with a diverse community, offering classes for all ages—from preschoolers to seniors. Classes are conducted both indoors and outdoors, and we are dedicated to creating a welcoming and safe environment for all participants.
The Tualatin Hills Cedar Hills Rec Center is seeking instructors for the following:
STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering
Arts and Crafts
General Interest: Cooking
Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and instruct recreational programs, or classes based on your expertise.
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for participants of all ages and skill levels.
Develop and implement engaging curriculum and activities to meet program goals.
Ensure the safety and well-being of participants during classes or programs.
Provide guidance, feedback, and support to participants to enhance their learning experience.
Qualifications:
Relevant experience and expertise in the subject matter you wish to instruct.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse participants.
Passion for creating a positive and enjoyable learning experience.
Schedule:
Part-time with flexible hours based on program needs.
Staff schedules can range from 5 to 20 hours per week, between 7:30 AM to 9:00 PM throughout the week, with opportunities to work on Saturdays and Sundays.
Part-time employees have variable schedules and may work less than 1,560 hours per year.
Positions:
Instructor I:No teaching experience required, must love working with people of all ages and abilities; be able to work inside and outside; and be at least 16 years of age.The hiring range for this position is $19.19 to $21.63, based on experience and internal equity. The full hourly range for this job classification is $19.19 - $21.63. Staff may be eligible for a merit increase at the end of September.
Instructor II:Must have at least 1-year of experience in leading and instructing general classes and be at least 16 years of age.The hiring range for this position is $21.15 to $23.85, based on experience and internal equity. The full hourly range for this job classification is $21.15 - $23.85. Staff may be eligible for a merit increase at the end of September.
