This position is responsible for providing quality, effective instruction in assigned courses on a full-time basis and may be assigned to day or evening courses.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. *Provides didactic and / or clinical instruction as assigned by the program director
*Supervises and evaluates student clinical and/or lab performance
*Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour
*Selects learning experiences that facilitate the student attainment of course student learning outcomes
*Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance
*Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment
*Grades and returns student work in a timely manner
*Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course
Maintains clinical experience records and grades in accordance with institutional / departmental policies
Maintains current certifications / license / credentials to practice in their profession
Utilizes a variety of instructional evaluation methods considering learning styles and teaching / learning theory
Participates in ongoing curriculum evaluation and recommend curriculum changes as appropriate to the changing needs of the programKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Requirements:
Associate degree in respiratory therapy
Must be credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care
Must have an active North Carolina Respiratory Care license
Two years full-time employment as a clinical practitioner in Respiratory Therapy
Preferences:
Experience with Blackboard and online teaching tools
Bachelor’s Degree
Neonatal/Pediatric Experience
Previous teaching experience in Respiratory or another health-related area
