This position is responsible for providing effective instruction for assigned courses which may include student massage clinic. This position assists with the coordination of all instructional and academic activities within the department and provides assistance with curriculum/course development.

*Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner; supervises and evaluates student clinical performance

*Teaches courses in accordance with published course descriptions

*Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance, submits information in accordance with institutional and departmental policies

*Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment; uses equipment safely and proficiently

*Grades and returns student work in a timely manner

Assists with establishing goals and objectives for the program

Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course

Prepares appropriately and thoroughly for each instructional hour as assigned

Maintains regular office hours

Stays abreast of most current teaching methods and technology in the classroom

Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching

Provides instruction as needed to fill in for classes due to unexpected adjunct faculty absences

Assists with handling student concerns

Assists with ongoing course development, evaluation, and revision as needed to maintain compliance with accreditation bodies

Assists with orientation and registration of students

Assists with collection and analysis of departmental IE assessment data

Maintains current knowledge of program policies, procedures, and student progress

Actively participates in department meetings and assisting with planning and serving in leadership

Collaborates with Program Director and Director to adequately budget for equipment, supplies, and professional development needs for the department

Works closely with the staff and instructors to ensure effective communication within the department

Serves on college or department committees as needed

Be licensed as a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist in North Carolina for at least two years ORHold a state license or certification from a state other than North Carolina in massage and bodywork therapy for at least two yearsPreferences:
