Snow College’s Division of Social and Behavioral Science seeks qualified applicants for a full-time tenure track Instructor/Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice beginning August 2026. The position will be expected to teach classes in criminal justice subjects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in instruction, institutional service, and student success.
  • Master’s degree in criminal justice or related field required.
    1. PhD in criminal justice earned by time of employment preferred.
  • Work experience in a criminal justice field preferred.
  • Ability, experience, and qualification to teach 1st and 2nd year college criminal justice courses.
  • Demonstrate experience and excellence in teaching.
  • Be experienced in engaged learning pedagogies/high impact practices.
  • Skilled and proficient in diverse instructional methods (face to face, asynchronous online, interactive video conference-IVC).
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly in oral and written English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to be collegial with faculty/staff/admin, community/industry partners, and be respectful and encouraging of students.
  • Teach a minimum of 5 criminal justice classes (15 credits) per semester (Fall & Spring) through a variety of delivery modes, including traditional face-to-face, asynchronous online, and interactive Video Conference (IVC) to remote sites.
  • Regularly develop and evaluate teaching and learning curriculum and incorporate pedagogies and practices that lead to student success.
  • Mentor majors and prospective majors in criminal justice fields.
  • Be actively engaged in program recruitment and student retention efforts.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with colleagues at Snow College as well as colleagues at transfer institutions and with external constituents.
  • Participate in institutional committees and service to Snow College and the community at large.
Salary & Additional Information:
This is a full-time tenure-track position with a professional commitment of 40+ hours per week and a 9-month schedule through Fall and Spring semesters (mid Aug-mid May).
  • Salary:$52,735-$55,511. Commensurate with qualifications and experience
  • Additional Compensation:possibility for overload pay for courses taught beyond the base teaching load.
  • Opportunities for rank advancement and associated salary increases are available based on performance and qualifications.
  • Annual institutional salary and benefit increases based on state legislative funding.
