Job SummaryThe Mission of Immaculate Conception of Dardenne Catholic School is empowering students, through love and virtue, to develop their Catholic faith, their intellect, and a community of one Spirit in Christ Jesus.
Founded in 1880, Immaculate Conception Parish School and Preschool serves over 480 families and 820 students. The school has over 100 staff members including administration, office staff, classroom teachers, resource teachers, special area class teachers, teacher aides, and support staff. Immaculate Conception School fosters a “community of one Spirit in Christ Jesus”, dedicated to serving the mission of Catholic education in the Archdiocese of St. Louis and the needs of its families.
An Instructional Aide provides direct student support within the classrooms of ICD School. This position reports to the Associate Principal of the Lower School.
Mission
Actively engage in living the mission of Immaculate Conception Catholic School, as a member of “a community of one Spirit in Christ Jesus.”
Live the mission of the Catholic church in daily life, as defined by the Christian Witness statement and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Primary Functions
Assist the classroom teacher in the instruction of students.
Actively monitor student learning and assist students when needed.
Work with small groups or individual students as directed by the teacher.
Assist, monitor, and guide students to pay attention, participate in activities, and complete tasks.
Assist in implementing behavior management plans as designed and directed by the CARE Team process.
Attend special area classes for grades K-3.
Secondary Functions
Assist the classroom teacher with filing, grading, paperwork, bulletin boards, and preparation of materials for class activities.
Additional Responsibilities
Supervise students during lunch and recess.
Monitor morning drop-off.
Cover other classes as directed by the administration.
