Infection Preventionist
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Infection Preventionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring infection control policies to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Your expertise will help reduce the risk of healthcare-associated infections and promote best practices across our facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate infection prevention and control policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Conduct surveillance of infections within the facility to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Educate staff, patients, and visitors on infection prevention practices and protocols.
- Investigate infection outbreaks and collaborate with clinical teams to implement corrective actions.
- Maintain documentation and reporting of infection data to relevant health authorities.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to infection control.
- Participate in infection control committees and contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Microbiology, Public Health, or a related field; certification as an Infection Control Professional (CIC) is preferred.
- APICA Certification preferred and required after 1 year of employment.
- Proven experience in infection prevention and control within a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of infection control standards, CDC guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to educate and influence staff at all levels of the organization.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting tools.
