At Mavpak, we serve our customers in their packaging, equipment and facility needs. As we continue to grow, we are working to add some hard working equipment service technicians to our team.
The Service Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing packaging equipment and manufacturing equipment at customer sites. This role includes performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and responding to both scheduled and emergency service calls. Technicians are expected to maintain a professional presence on-site at all times, including appearance, conduct, and leaving work areas clean and organized. This role plays a key part in ensuring equipment uptime and delivering high-quality service to customers.
Key Responsibilities
Service & Repairs
- Diagnose and repair packaging/manufacturing equipment issues in the field
- Perform both scheduled and emergency service calls
- Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical problems
Preventative Maintenance (PMs)
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on customer equipment
- Identify wear items and potential failures before they occur
- Document completed PMs and recommend follow-up actions
Installations
- Assist with / or lead installation of new packaging equipment
- Ensure equipment is set up, tested, and operating correctly
- Train customers on basic operation when needed
Customer Communication & Professionalism
- Communicate clearly with customers on issues, timelines, and solutions
- Provide updates during service calls and ensure customer satisfaction
- Maintain a professional presence on-site, including appearance and conduct
- Ensure all work areas are cleaned and organized before leaving the job site
Documentation & Reporting
- Complete service reports accurately and in a timely manner
- Document parts used, labor, and service details
- Communicate recurring issues or opportunities for improvement
Qualifications
- Experience working with packaging equipment or manufacturing equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude with basic electrical knowledge
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve in the field
- Ability to read manuals, diagrams, and technical instructions
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to customer sites
Work Environment
- Field-based at customer facilities
- Combination of scheduled work and emergency call-outs
- Frequent lifting, tool use, and working around industrial equipment
- Travel may be required depending on service area
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Experience with stretch wrappers, case sealers, or similar equipment
- Prior field service experience
- Familiarity with PLCs or basic controls
