Perform MIG, TIG, arc, and oxy-acetylene welding on ferrous and nonferrous metals
Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and manufacturer specifications
Inspect welds and finished products to ensure quality and accuracy
Operate welding equipment, hand tools, and shop machinery safely and efficiently
Maintain compliance with company safety policies and procedures
Job Duties
Create quality welds according to blueprints and weld symbols
Prepare materials by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping, and cutting steel and aluminum parts
Lay out, position, align, fit, bolt, clamp, and tack-weld components for final welding
Set up and weld parts using applicable welding equipment
Change welding wire and gas tanks as needed
Perform arc and oxy-acetylene welding, cutting, and brazing using established procedures
Use geometry, arithmetic, structural design, and metal thickness calculations to complete fabrication work accurately
Maintain required production and welding documentation
Inspect completed welds for accuracy and quality standards
Perform additional work-related duties as assigned
Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
Education and Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred
Commercial welding experience required
Ability to read and interpret blueprints required
Current and valid welding certification preferred
Welding school or vocational training preferred
Must pass the Grant Prideco welding test
