Indirect Category Specialist

Hybrid 2-3 days in office.


Advantage Technical is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Indirect Category Specialist to support procurement and sourcing operations across multiple indirect spend categories. This is an exciting opportunity for a procurement professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, and innovative environment while driving strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier performance improvements.


The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of procurement experience, strong analytical and negotiation skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization. Experience supporting indirect procurement categories such as HR, Facilities, and Travel is highly preferred.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support procurement operations across multiple indirect spend categories
  • Manage supplier relationships and contract performance, including renegotiations and pricing adjustments
  • Identify sourcing opportunities and analyze potential financial impact
  • Prepare and solicit RFQs/RFPs and competitive bids from vendors
  • Lead supplier selection, pricing negotiations, and contract execution
  • Approve and qualify new vendors prior to onboarding
  • Ensure vendor compliance with pricing, service levels, and contractual terms
  • Serve as an escalation point for procurement-related stakeholder concerns
  • Assist in developing and implementing procurement policies, procedures, and sourcing strategies
  • Lead sourcing initiatives from business need identification through signed contract execution
  • Proactively manage contract renewals and sourcing timelines
  • Conduct spend analytics and recommend consolidation or cost-saving initiatives
  • Document and communicate sourcing procedures and best practices
  • Partner with cross-functional and global stakeholders to drive procurement process improvements


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3–5 years of procurement and/or indirect spend management experience
  • Experience supporting indirect categories such as HR, Facilities, and Travel
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and supplier management skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and drive change across teams
  • Experience working in a global environment preferred
  • Knowledge of contract review processes and commercial/legal terms
  • ISM Certification or related professional certification preferred
