Responsibilities:

  • Excellent employment opportunity for a Scientist III in the Ridgefield, CT area.
  • Main duties will be to conduct routine and non-routine cellular assays to support in vitro assay development.
  • Attention to detail and ability to run assays consistently is crucial for role.
  • Initiates and completes routine in vitro studies in an independent and efficient manner, with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates the ability to interpret outcome of experiments and to propose appropriate follow-up; troubleshoots effectively.
  • Assists in the design and execution of non-routine experiments in the context of cell based in vitro and biochemical assays; conducts exploratory experiments with minimal supervision.
  • Applies basic scientific principles for study design, data analysis, and interpretation; performs literature searches and extracts relevant information from published protocols when required
  • Independently operates and is responsible for lab equipment; troubleshoots effectively.
  • Communicates own work effectively orally and in writing; contributes to writing protocols, procedures, and technical reports; provides input for scientific reports.
  • Reports and treats data with a high level of integrity and ethics.
  • Maintains accurate and up to date electronic lab notebooks.
  • Complies with applicable regulations, performing all work in a safe and compliant manner, maintaining proper records in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and policies.


Experience:


  • Master's degree from an accredited institution with one-plus (1+) years of experience in a related scientific discipline (Computer Science, Genomics, Biostatistics or Bioinformatics preferred) OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with seven-plus (7+) years of experience in a STEM discipline.
  • Experience in aseptic cell culture techniques and molecular biology techniques including nucleic acid extraction, RT-PCR, Western Blot, ELISA are required.
  • Experimental design, execution, and interpretation in these areas will be required.
  • Experience with in vitro cellular assay execution and assay development are required
  • Experience with non-viral in vitro gene delivery techniques and cell-based imaging experience are preferred
  • Proven problem-solving ability with aptitude for agile learning style.
  • Ability to contribute to the design, execution, and interpretation of non-routine experiments with minimal supervision and assist to the implementation of experimental approaches that contribute to department goals.
  • Written and verbal communication skills: concise and accurate reporting of technical data and information
  • Proficiency with computers and data analysis software such as Microsoft Excel and GraphPad Prism.
  • Ability and willingness to work effectively in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Cell culture experience, in vitro gene delivery techniques and experience in functional cellular assays
  • Molecular biology techniques; ELISA, RNA isolation, Gene expression (qPCR) western blot, etc.
