Job Description:

The Import/Export Coordinator supports the Transportation Department by ensuring all transportation-related activities are completed, audited, and recorded accurately. This role also assists with import operations and import freight payments. The position requires frequent interaction with internal teams, external partners, and customers, demanding professionalism, courtesy, and strong communication skills.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to information requests from U.S. import customs brokers regarding import shipments
  • Audit import shipment documentation for U.S. Customs compliance and accuracy
  • Document, communicate, and follow up on discrepancies and corrective actions
  • Maintain filing systems and records for domestic and international shipments
  • Communicate with third-party logistics providers via phone, email, and web portals
  • Track, trace, and report on inbound material flow
  • Review freight bills, invoices, and purchase orders for accuracy
  • Perform data entry for freight bills, customs audit logs, and related records
  • Process freight quote requests from internal and external customers and communicate responses
  • Support additional transportation department functions as needed
  • Participate in cross-training across transportation functions
  • Collaborate effectively with coworkers, vendors, and customers

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma (additional coursework or certifications in logistics or supply chain preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in transportation, shipping, or logistics
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Working knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and the Harmonized Tariff System (HTS)
  • Understanding of international and domestic shipping documentation and processes
  • Ability to manage tasks independently and contribute to cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates Degree
  • Experience with import documentation and compliance processes
  • Knowledge of HTS classification and import regulations
  • Familiarity with freight auditing and logistics systems

Compensation Information:

The specific hiring rate within the posted pay range will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications and prior experience.

$22.30 - $24.00 per hour
