Job Title: Forklift Operator – 1st Shift (East Moline)

Job Description

This 1st shift Forklift Operator role supports the shipping and receiving department in a warehouse setting in East Moline, IL. You will handle a variety of material handling tasks, including operating a sit-down forklift to move, stock, and organize inventory, while maintaining a safe and clean work environment and supporting overall warehouse efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a sit-down forklift safely to load, unload, move, and stage materials within the warehouse and shipping/receiving areas.
  • Replenish pick locations from overstock locations to ensure adequate product availability for order fulfillment.
  • Stock inbound inventory accurately and efficiently in designated bin locations.
  • Assist order pullers with picking and moving large or heavy orders as needed.
  • Perform bin location restocking and stock put-away according to warehouse procedures.
  • Support warehouse reorganization efforts when necessary to improve space utilization and workflow.
  • Pull coil orders as required, ensuring correct product selection and handling.
  • Follow all established safety procedures at all times to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area, including proper housekeeping in aisles, docks, and storage areas.
  • Maintain accurate product movement forms and documentation for inventory and shipping activities.
  • Handle multiple priorities and tasks in a fast-paced, changing warehouse environment.
  • Assist with general labor and production-related tasks as needed to support team goals.

Essential Skills

  • Previous warehouse and receiving experience.
  • At least 1 year of forklift experience in an industrial setting.
  • Proficiency operating a sit-down forklift for loading, unloading, and material movement.
  • Experience with material handling in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to use RF scanners for inventory and order processing.
  • Capability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment while handling multiple priorities.
  • Basic inventory handling skills, including picking and stocking.
  • Ability to perform general labor and production support tasks as required.
  • Commitment to following all safety procedures and maintaining a clean, organized work area.

Work Environment

You will work on 1st shift in a warehouse-based shipping and receiving environment with a smaller team. The facility is non-climate controlled, so it can be hot during the summer and cold during the winter months. Noise levels vary from quiet to moderate and can be loud at times depending on department activities and the use of tools or equipment. The role involves regular forklift operation, material handling, and general warehouse duties in an industrial setting, with an expectation to follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, orderly work area.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Moline, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
