JOB SUMMARY:
To perform skilled work in the installation, repair and maintenance of refrigeration, heating, ventilation, evaporative cooling, air conditioning equipment, and energy management control systems in support of the District maintenance program.
SUPERVISION:
Receives general supervision from an HVACR Supervisor.
Exercises no supervision; provides work instructions to HVACR Assistants.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION/TRAINING
Any combination equivalent to: sufficient training and education needed to acquire the knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics listed above.

(Substitutions: Completion of a heating-air conditioning-refrigeration course of training at a state-licensed technical or trade school or an associate degree in heating-air conditioning-refrigeration may be substituted for one of the three years of experience.)

ADDITIONAL SALARY INFORMATION:This is a non-exempt position, Regular Classified Salary Range 42A. Most positions in this class work 8 hours/12 months. The probationary period for employees in this classification is six (6) months (or 130 working days of paid service).

THE EXAMINATION:

Only qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the examination process.
Successful candidates who pass all parts of the examination process will be placed on the eligibility list in order of their relative merit.
Candidates will be notified in accordance with the Personnel Commission Rules.
This eligibility list will be active for a period of (1) year.
