HVAC PRJ Mech Appr (un)

What you will do:

As a Union Apprentice, you will assist a journeyman fitter/welder to layout, assembly, install, and repair of HVAC systems, Hydronic Systems. These systems may consist of pipes, fittings, piping systems, fixtures and equipment for heating, cooling, gas, steam, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial processing systems. Must be able to install quality work and have working knowledge of piping systems. Maintains the work area in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. Maintains required tools, and properly uses all Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and safety equipment. Perform a variety of manual tasks in varying temperatures for extended periods of time, which may include lifting light to heavy materials, climbing, standing, squatting, bending, and working at heights when applicable

How you will do it:

• Cut pipe
• Bevel and thread pipe
• Install pipe supports
• Install valves and instruments
• Material handling
• Operate lifts and other equipment

What we look for:

Required

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least one years previous related experience
• Good written/verbal communication skills are necessary.
• Available for Local Travel
• Trained and qualified to operate machinery such as scissor lifts, aerial lifts, fork lifts, etc
• Member local Union 142

Preferred

• One year of industry experience with piping layout, and installation of Hydronic Systems
• Knowledgeable in the field of cutting, Welding and layout

Pay Range: hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided 
through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. The posted salary  range reflects the target compensation for this role.
