HVAC Instructor

We are looking for a HVAC instructor to teach an advanced level course for students in our workforce development program at our Wye Mills campus. Commitment would be two 3-hour-nights per week from September to December and January to April. All instructional materials will be provided. Must have the minimum of a state-issued journeyman license in HVAC.

The Chesapeake College Adult and Community Education Program is seeking instructors to teach Adult Basic Education (ABE) and/or English as a Second Language (ESL) online and/or on-site at community locations throughout Queen Anne, Kent, Caroline, Talbot, and Dorchester counties of the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

Our current needs are:

• In-person ABE Math Instructor, Cambridge Center, Tues/Thurs PM
• Online ABE Math Instructors, evenings
• In-person ESL Instructors/Substitutes in Queen Anne’s & Kent Counties (Sudlersville and Chestertown)
• In-person ESL/ABE Instructors, Caroline County
• Online ESL Instructors/Substitutes (Daytime 10am-12:30pm)

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Strong competency in English language and basic math
• Respectful toward adult learners from a variety of backgrounds
• Basic technology skills for classroom instruction (using Zoom and/or online learning programs) and administrative tasks (work email account, Excel attendance spreadsheets, entering hours through employee self-service portal)

• Flexible and adaptable in responding to student needs using multiple teaching methods
• Creates a physical and interpersonal environment conducive to student learning
• Communicates effectively with students, staff, and administrative team; works cooperatively with Student Navigator assigned to each class to coordinate student orientation, testing, class visits, and other forms of student support
