HVAC Facilities Engineer III – Harrah’s Laughlin

Job Summary

The Facilities Engineer plays a key role in keeping Harrah’s Laughlin operating at its best, with a strong emphasis on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC and mechanical systems throughout the property. This role is ideal for a technician who takes pride in optimizing building comfort, ensuring equipment reliability, and applying advanced diagnostic skills to a wide range of systems.

You’ll work hands‑on with chillers, boilers, air handlers, refrigeration units, exhaust systems, and other critical infrastructure while also supporting additional building trades as needed. As part of our Facilities team, you’ll combine technical expertise with forward‑thinking problem solving to keep guests comfortable and operations running smoothly — all while delivering the level of service that reflects Harrah’s signature Family Style Service.

 

  • Perform skilled maintenance and repair work in one or more building trades, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, kitchen appliances, swimming pools, and general mechanics.
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, air handlers, VAVs, exhaust systems, refrigeration units, and split systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and performance testing on all heating, cooling, and ventilation equipment to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Monitor, adjust, and troubleshoot building automation systems (BAS) to maintain proper temperature control and energy efficiency.
  • Respond promptly to HVAC‑related service calls, ensuring issues are resolved safely, efficiently, and in alignment with Harrah’s customer service standards.
  • Maintain accurate logs of HVAC performance, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Work proactively with a forward‑looking, innovative approach to property maintenance and problem solving.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and uphold Harrah’s customer service standards.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including proper refrigerant handling.
  • Understand and carry out oral and written instructions accurately.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, scheduling daily tasks and prioritizing work activities.
  • Identify, order, and install correct parts needed to repair and maintain equipment properly.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas at all times.
  • Support property operations by responding promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
