About the Role



This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing, designing and administering competitive benefits programs, and supporting overall HR operations. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with strategic thinking to enhance employee satisfaction and organizational efficiency.



Responsibilities



  • Payroll Management
  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Manage payroll systems, audits, and reporting, including year-end processes (W-2s, tax filings, etc.).
  • Coordinate with finance and external vendors to resolve discrepancies and improve payroll efficiency.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll laws and compliance requirements.
  • Benefits Administration
  • Design, implement, and manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and leave policies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries and issue resolution.
  • Lead annual open enrollment processes, including communication, education, and system updates.
  • Evaluate benefits offerings to ensure competitiveness and alignment with organizational goals.
  • HR Operations & Compliance
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures comply with applicable labor laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data integrity.
  • Support internal and external audits related to payroll and benefits.
  • Partner with leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that support business objectives.
  • Employee Support & Communication
  • Provide guidance to employees on payroll, deductions, and benefits options.
  • Develop clear communication materials related to compensation and benefits programs.
  • Promote employee engagement through effective HR practices and support.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of HR experience with a strong focus on payroll and benefits administration.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll systems, tax regulations, and benefits compliance (e.g., FLSA, ACA, ERISA).
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll software (e.g., ADP, Workday, or similar platforms).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.


Required Skills



  • In-depth knowledge of payroll systems, tax regulations, and benefits compliance (e.g., FLSA, ACA, ERISA).
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll software (e.g., ADP, Workday, or similar platforms).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.


Preferred Skills



  • Professional certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or CPP.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and benefits negotiations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead process improvements and system implementations.


Pay range and compensation package



Typically, office-based or hybrid work environment. May require extended hours during payroll cycles, audits, or open enrollment periods.
