Kelly Services is excited to partner with a leading multinational organization in the motor vehicle parts manufacturing sector. Our client has been in business for over 50 years and is seeking to hire a Human Resources Generalist for their Virginia Beach location. This vital role will support daily HR operations and provide comprehensive administrative assistance as needed. The HR Generalist’s core responsibilities include employee relations, onboarding, benefits administration, regulatory compliance, recordkeeping, and additional HR functions.

Human Resources Duties:

  • Administer full-cycle HR support including recruiting, onboarding, orientation, and offboarding for hourly and salaried employees.
  • Coordinate new hire paperwork, background checks, drug screens, and I-9/E-Verify compliance.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR files (digital and physical).
  • Support employee relations by responding to inquiries, interpreting policies, and escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Assist in performance management processes, including evaluations, disciplinary documentation, and corrective actions.
  • Administer employee benefits programs (health, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, leave programs).
  • Process payroll data such as timekeeping, attendance, and employee status changes; interface with payroll provider.
  • Support workers’ compensation claims and OSHA-related reporting and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, OSHA).
  • Participate in audits, HR reporting, and data tracking.
  • Assist with training initiatives, safety training coordination, and employee development programs.


Administrative & Office Support Duties:

  • Provide general administrative support to HR and plant leadership.
  • Order office and HR-related supplies and maintain inventory.
  • Schedule meetings, interviews, training sessions, and conference rooms.
  • Support to account payables, invoicing responsibilities.
  • Maintain filing systems, records retention, and confidentiality standards.
  • Assist with company communications such as postings, memos, and bulletin boards.
  • Support company events, employee engagement activities, and recognition programs.


Qualifications and Skillset:

  • 2–5 years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Bilingual, Spanish as plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); HRIS experience preferred.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.
  • OSHA or safety-related training preferred.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience working with hourly workforces and shift-based operations.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
  • Professional communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing setting.
