The Human Resources Generalist manages the daily operations of the HR department with a heavy emphasis on compliance, leave administration, and payroll/benefits oversight. This role serves as the on-site subject matter expert for employment law, ensuring that all centralized processes—from recruitment to return-to-work—are standardized, legally defensible, and aligned with organizational goals. **Key Responsibilities:** - Compliance & Policy Management: - Legal Expertise: Serve as the on-site expert for U.S. federal and state employment law (ADA, ADEA, EEO, FLSA, FMLA, HIPAA, Wage & Hour). - Standardization: Establish and maintain centralized HR processes to ensure consistent and fair application of workplace policies across all supported states. - Legislative Monitoring: Track regulatory changes and update internal policies to maintain continuous compliance. - Employee Relations: Lead investigations into employee concerns and partner with leadership to implement corrective actions and preventive solutions. - Leave & Benefits Administration: - Leave Management: Manage and process FMLA and other leave programs; calculate leave balances and ensure data accuracy. - Workers’ Compensation: Manage return-to-work processes following leave under workers' compensation in close coordination with department heads. - Benefits Oversight: Administer employee insurance coverage and benefit options, including enrollment and responding to employee inquiries. - Operational HR & Payroll: - Payroll Support: Support payroll processing and calculate leave adjustments to ensure accuracy and timeliness. - Talent Acquisition: Partner with hiring managers to recruit, interview, and onboard qualified candidates, including conducting background checks. - Reporting: Generate and analyze HRIS and payroll-related reports to identify trends and process improvements.
