The HR Generalist plays a key role in managing and enhancing core human resources functions within the organization. This position supports a wide range of HR activities, including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, training, and performance management. The HR Generalist helps ensure policies and procedures are consistently applied while fostering a positive, inclusive, and productive workplace culture.
Responsibilities
Partner with leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that support business objectives, workforce planning, and organizational growth.
Analyze HR metrics and workforce data to identify trends, recommend improvements, and drive informed decision-making.
Lead employee engagement and retention initiatives, including action planning based on employee feedback and organizational needs.
Support organizational development efforts by identifying talent gaps, succession planning opportunities, and employee development programs.
Collaborate with managers to enhance performance, accountability, and leadership effectiveness across the organization.
Recommend and implement process improvements that increase HR efficiency, employee experience, and overall organizational effectiveness.
Ensure compliance with internal HR policies as well as applicable state and federal employment laws.
Develop and implement compliance programs through process mapping and standardized practices.
Build strong employee relationships by maintaining a visible presence throughout the organization and encouraging open, two-way communication.
Manage full-cycle recruitment for non-exempt positions, including interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
Support administration of leave programs, including FMLA and other leave-of-absence processes.
Assist in executing Affirmative Action initiatives, including training hiring managers, outreach efforts, recordkeeping, and tracking.
Maintain accurate employee records, including hires, performance reviews, promotions, transfers, and separations.
Administer and support performance management processes, including mid-year and annual reviews, ensuring consistency and compliance across the organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar role.
HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR) preferred but not required.
Knowledge of leave-of-absence programs and current labor laws.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Adaptable, quick learner with a high level of professionalism.
Strong customer service mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
