SUPERVISOR: Chief Human Resources Officer


POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Coordinator at TLC supports a range of HR activities, including recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, and maintaining employee information. More importantly, this role helps shape the experience that candidates and employees have with our organization from their very first interaction.

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in the full hiring process of employees: including recruitment, interview scheduling, background checks, verifying work-history and references, tracking of new potential candidates, and onboarding process and schedule.


Assists with onboarding procedures: including employee orientation, housing, TLC tours, ID badges and access, creating new employee files, and scheduling new hire training.


Responds to employee questions and requests, providing basic guidance on HR and TLC policies and procedures. Assists with maintaining and updating HR policies and procedures and helps ensure consistent application across the organization.


Documents and refines HR workflows and processes to ensure they are clear, accessible, and easy to navigate. Identifies ways to improve processes to create a more seamless and positive experience across the employee lifecycle.


Maintains the HR calendar and schedules meetings for the HR team, and takes accurate meeting minutes.


Serves as a key resource for the HRIS, ensuring data accuracy, and taking the lead in generating reports and analyzing data to support HR operations and decision-making.


Coordinates and responds to employment verifications, ensuring timely, accurate, and confidential handling of information.


Provides administrative support for insurance and 403b benefit plans; assists with enrollments, changes and terminations while ensuring accurate and timely processing.


Maintains accurate and confidential personnel files, ensuring all employee records and personnel actions are properly documented, organized, and compliant.


Prepare quarterly KPI presentation materials and slides for stakeholder review.


Maintains and manages key inventory and TLC ID badge distribution.


Performs administrative functions such as, filing, copying, mailing and opening mail, scanning, taking detailed notes, etc.


Performs other duties as assigned to support the needs of the department and organization.

Requirements

  • Two years of related experience preferred; Associate’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality and adheres to a strict code of conduct
  • Ability to maintain a welcoming, professional, and positive employee centered approach
  • Knowledge of Human Resources practices and general employment standards
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and proficient with Mac/Apple computers, as well as an ability and willingness to learn new applications and software, procedures and processes
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking, Onboarding, and HRIS systems preferred
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and ability to follow processes accurately
  • Passion for and commitment to TLC’s mission
  • Familiarity with recruiting processes and job posting practices
  • Takes initiative and works independently, approaching tasks with a sense of ownership, organization, and follow-through
  • A minimum of conversational fluency in American Sign Language preferred, with willingness to learn required
  • ASL Classes may be required based on ASL fluency
  • Limited travel may be required on an as needed basis

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including lifting, bending, reaching above shoulder level, climbing stairs, pulling, typing, and performing prolonged periods of standing or sitting.
