The ideal HR Recruiter is a proactive and relationship-focused professional who excels at sourcing talent, managing full-cycle recruiting, and delivering a positive candidate and intern experience. They are highly organized, communicative, and collaborative, with the ability to build strong partnerships and leverage recruiting tools and data to drive results, with a preference for candidates who have knowledge of or experience in the agriculture industry. This individual demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and a passion for developing talent, particularly through engaging and well-managed intern programs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Include but are not limited to the following:
Employee Recruitment
- Proactively source, screen, and route candidates from platforms such as Indeed, LinkedIn, and internal applicant pipelines to hiring managers.
- Coordinate and support regional hiring events as needed.
- Build and maintain relationships with high school counselors and instructors to promote career opportunities.
- Partner with area managers to support regional recruiting initiatives and outreach efforts.
Intern Recruitment & Program Management
- Manage registrations and logistics for college career fairs (primarily fall, with spring participation as needed).
- Attend career fairs and coordinate team participation.
- Collaborate with department leaders to identify and plan for summer intern hiring needs.
- Coordinate and execute the intern interview and offer process.
- Maintain engagement with interns from offer acceptance through start date.
- Partner with Communications to develop intern recruiting materials, displays, and promotional items.
- Plan and facilitate intern programming, including:
- Professional development sessions
- Networking events
- Industry and facility tours
- Social events
- Capstone presentation day
- Provide ongoing support to interns throughout their capstone projects.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for interns.
- Oversee the intern mentorship program, including mentor and supervisor support.
- Coordinate intern housing as needed.
- Build relationships with campus organizations, attend events, and support sponsorship opportunities.
Administrative & Operational Support
- Serve as backup support for the Recruiting Coordinator.
- Assist in reviewing and improving recruitment processes (e.g., offer letters, applicant tracking system functions).
- Generate and provide recruiting reports and metrics to leadership.
- Administer background check and motor vehicle record (MVR) processes (e.g., Checkr).
- Manage job postings and platform administration for third-party recruiting tools (Indeed, LinkedIn).
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Must be licensed and insurable to drive.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, marketing, business, or related field.
- 1-3 years’ experience in talent acquisition, human resources, marketing, or related field preferred.
- Agriculture experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness.
- Advanced knowledge of HRIS and ability to learn new technical systems, when necessary.
- Ability to read and interpret documents.
- Aptitude for problem-solving and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies.
- Must be able to interact and effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
