Overview

We are seekingaRNHouse Supervisor,sometimes referred to as a Hospital House Supervisoror Clinical House Supervisor.The RN House Supervisorwillensuresmooth, safe, and efficient clinical operations across the entire hospital. TheRN Supervisoris the administrative representative of hospital leadership when management is off-site.The RN House Supervisorwillensure that staffing, patient care, crisis response, and interdepartmental coordination are handled without interruption.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • May directly intervene in emergency situations, including patient codes, Rapid Response activations, or behavioral escalations
  • Monitors patient flow:supervise bed availability and coordinates admissions, discharges, and inter-unit transfers
  • Work closely with the emergency department (ED), intensive care units (ICU), med-surg floors, and ancillary departments (lab, imaging, pharmacy) to avoid bottlenecks
  • Manage staffing by evaluating unit needs based on census, patient acuity, and absences; reallocates existing staff and coordinates float pool, per diem, or agency support
  • Prepare comprehensive shift reports and documents critical incidents—including patient complaints, staff conflicts, injuries, and safety concerns
  • Oversee hospital operations during assigned shifts, ensuring quality care, efficient patient flow, and staff coordination in the absence of administrative leadership
  • Supports staff,assistwith urgent procedures and staffing, ensureRNstaff orientation, and promote a positive patient experience

Qualifications

Education, Work Experience & Qualifications:

1. Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse.2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.3. ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.4. One (1) year prior experience as a Supervisor preferred.5. Minimum of three (3) years acute care nursing experience 6. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
