Horizontal Mill Machinist | 1st Shift | West Columbia, SC

We’re hiring a skilled CNC Machinist for an opportunity with Harsco Rail, a global leader in railway track maintenance solutions.

Compensation & Schedule

• $27.00 – $33.04/hour (based on experience & technical ability)
• 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
• Monday – Friday

What You’ll Be Doing

• Set up and run horizontal CNC mills (Doosan, Haas)
• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications
• Write and edit G-code / M-code at the machine (Fanuc controls)
• Perform first-piece inspections and in-process checks
• Adjust offsets, tooling, and programs as needed
• Work in a low-volume, high-mix environment (not repetitive production)

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience with horizontal machining centers (HMCs)
• Hands-on experience with Fanuc controls
• Ability to manually edit or write G-code
• Experience with:
• Machine setup
• Offsets (G54–G59)
• Tooling & troubleshooting
• Comfortable holding tight tolerances (±0.001”)
• Ability to read blueprints and perform inspections

This Role is NOT For

• Machine operators who only load and press start
• Candidates without setup or programming experience
