Job Description

The Holecutter plays a key role in the production of fiberglass boats by accurately drilling, cutting, and finishing holes in hulls, decks, and molded components. This position works in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and requires strong attention to detail, confident use of hand-held power tools, and consistent adherence to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Locate and clearly mark hole positions on fiberglass hulls, decks, and molded parts using blueprints, templates, measurements, and written work instructions.
  • Drill, cut, and trim holes in fiberglass components using hand-held drills, hole saws, grinders, routers, and related cutting tools.
  • Perform rough trimming and finish grinding around cut openings to achieve smooth edges and a proper fit for downstream assembly operations.
  • Inspect all cut and drilled openings to verify correct size, accurate placement, and overall quality, and make adjustments or corrections as needed.
  • Follow all manufacturing specifications, quality standards, and documented procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality work.
  • Safely operate cutting, drilling, and grinding equipment, using proper techniques to protect both the operator and the workpiece.
  • Comply with all safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and fiberglass dust-control practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area to support production efficiency and minimize safety risks.
  • Safely operate forklifts and/or tugger vehicles to move molds, materials, components, and finished parts within the facility, as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members in a production environment to meet quality, productivity, and schedule goals.
  • Work across multiple departments as required to support production demands and maintain workflow.

This is a Contract position based out of Merritt Island, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
