As a HMDA Quality Assurance Specialist, you will collaborate with cross-functional banking teams to safeguard compliance, streamline critical lending processes, and support the growth and integrity of the financial services offered to the community.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and execution of internal quality assurance programs for pre-funding and post-closing of loans, ensuring adherence to bank policies and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct in-depth mortgage file post-closing reviews, verifying legal, origination, and closing documentation for compliance accuracy.
- Collect, validate, and analyze loan data to ensure full compliance with HMDA requirements, including precise data entry and reporting.
- Perform second-level review of HMDA data and collaborate on process and procedural improvements, training, and auditing.
- Participate in the design and rollout of HMDA procedures, controls, and internal auditing programs; facilitate annual LAR submission.
- Provide backup support for compliance assessments, servicing audits, and additional loan servicing functions as needed.
- Prepare monthly HELOC review reports and support FNMA funding, conversions, and reconciliations.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, addressing internal and external requests related to HMDA and post-closing processes.
Must-Have Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in loan post-closing and HMDA quality assurance within the banking sector.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of lending processes, post-closing documentation, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Demonstrated experience with HMDA regulations and reporting requirements.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and loan documentation review.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with loan origination systems such as Finastra Mortgagebot LOS.
- Familiarity with HMDA software solutions, especially QuestSoft.
- Excellent organization and customer service skills.
- Ability to interpret loan documentation, disclosures, and complex procedures.
- Strong communication skills for interdepartmental collaboration and customer service support.
