Job Summary:
Performs both routine and complex histologic techniques such as enzyme histochemistry, immunohistochemistry, in-situ hybridization, and immunofluorescence on tissue samples for microscopic examination by a pathologist to diagnose disease. Knowledgeable in the areas of pathology, management, education, and regulations that impact the field of histotechnology; acts as a technical resource for the department.

Required Education and Experience:
Opt 1: Bachelor Degree with a combination of 30 semester hrs of biology and chemistry (must include both), AND successful completion of an accredited Histotechnology program.Opt 2: Bachelor Degree with a combination of 30 semester hrs of biology and chemistry (must include both), AND one year full time acceptable experience in a histopathology laboratory within the last 5 years including fixation, embedding, microtomy, processing and staining.Preferred Education and Experience:
