Location: Ridgefield, CT

Duration: 12 Months

Schedule: Full‑time, 40 hours/week (8 hours/day)

About the Role

We are seeking a Histotechnician to join the Clinical and Scientific team. This position plays a key role in supporting research and pathology projects through expert tissue preparation and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform tissue fixation, processing, and embedding of biological specimens
• Section tissues using microtomy techniques to prepare high‑quality slides
• Conduct routine, special staining, and IHC/IF procedures
• Operate whole slide scanning systems
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment
• Ensure quality control and accurate documentation of laboratory procedures
• Collaborate with pathologists and research scientists on ongoing projects

Qualifications & Skills

Must Have:

• Strong microtomy skills
• Experience with FFPE tissue block sectioning
• Associate degree in Histotechnology or related field
• ASCP certification as Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL), or eligibility to obtain certification
• Proficiency in tissue processing, embedding, and staining techniques
• Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and regulatory compliance
• Exceptional attention to detail, manual dexterity, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage time effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑volume laboratory environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
