We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Histology Technician to join our clinical laboratory team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in preparing tissue specimens for microscopic examination, supporting diagnostic and research activities. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment, contributing to patient care and scientific advancement.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and process tissue specimens for histological analysis using various laboratory techniques.
  • Embed, section, and stain tissue samples following established protocols.
  • Ensure accurate labeling and documentation of specimens to maintain chain of custody.
  • Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and safety standards during all procedures.
  • Assist with specimen collection and processing, including blood draws and other sample types as needed.
  • Perform quality control checks on prepared slides and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Maintain detailed records of all procedures performed in compliance with laboratory regulations.
  • Support research projects by preparing specimens according to experimental requirements.
  • Collaborate with pathologists, researchers, and clinical staff to ensure accurate diagnostic results.
Essential Skills
  • Histology Technician/Histologist ASCP licensure in Florida required.
  • 2+ years' experience in hospital or research laboratories.
  • Proficient in laboratory procedures including specimen collection, processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining techniques.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols and quality assurance practices.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathology concepts preferred.
  • Experience with phlebotomy, vital signs measurement, and patient care preferred.
Work Environment

100% onsite in a clean room lab environment, working as part of a team. Temp-to-perm opportunity with great benefits.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Coral Gables, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.
