What You'll Do

We’relooking foranAnalystto joinPrincipalGlobal Fixed IncomeHigh Yield team. In this role,you'llconduct high yield andleveragedloan research and analysis on assigned companies/industries, develop financial models,whileprovidingresearch insightswithdetailedbuy, sell and hold recommendations to support portfolio managers in making informed investment decisions!

  • Independently perform fundamental credit analysis,assessing economic, competitive, sector, and political drivers of credit risk;maintaincredit ratings, outlooks, and relative value assessments, and proactively communicate material developments to senior analysts and portfolio managers.
  • Provide ongoing credit monitoring and reporting,includingreviewingongoingperformanceofcompanies under coverage including written and verbal updates.trackingcovenant trends, escalating concerns related to deteriorating creditquality, andresponding to basic inquiries from internal partners and clients.
  • Build market and sectorexpertiseby analyzing macroeconomic trends, industry dynamics, and competitive developments,identifyingemerging risks and opportunities, contributing insights to portfolio managers and senior leadership, andmaintainingrelationships with external industry contacts.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (iefinance, accounting, economics, statistics, engineering, data science, business analytics)
  • At least one (two preferred) years'investmentexperience withan emphasison research
  • Solid understanding of financial accounting and economic theory, global financialmarketsand fixed income products
  • Proficiencywith Excel

Skills That Will Help You Stand Out

  • High yield andleveragedloan experience ispreferred. Relevant experience in other fixed income asset classesisalso helpful
  • Experience with Bloomberg
  • Progress towards CFA
  • Applied use of AI tools in credit research and analysis
  • Familiarity with database structures, big data techniques, and programming languages
  • Strong analytical judgment related to credit risk and valuation
  • Financial modeling experience related to corporate credit analysis

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range

$110200 - $148200 / year

Salary Details

The base salary range for this role is $110,200 – $148,200 as indicated above. Final compensation will be determined based on skills, experience, and alignment with the role’s responsibilities.

In addition to base pay, this role participates in an annual profit share bonus plan. Note your base expectations when answering the application questions.

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.
