Job Description

The Heavy Assembler III works as part of a small team to build large industrial radiators used in warehouses, production facilities, and data centers. This role involves assembling radiator components and full units using hand and power tools, operating overhead cranes and lifts, and performing leak tests to ensure product quality. The position requires strong mechanical assembly experience, the ability to work at heights, and a focus on safety and precision in a busy fabrication and assembly shop.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble various parts and complete industrial radiators in teams of 1–3, following work instructions and specifications.
  • Use hand tools and power tools to securely build and fasten radiator components and assemblies.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and related documentation to ensure accurate assembly of parts and full radiator units.
  • Climb onto large radiators using ladders or scissor lifts to perform assembly tasks at height in a safe and controlled manner.
  • Operate overhead cranes to lift, position, and move heavy components and completed radiators within the assembly area.
  • Perform leak tests on completed radiators to verify quality, identify issues, and ensure units meet required standards.
  • Work across multiple assembly areas that build both component parts and complete radiators, adapting to different setups and processes.
  • Measure and verify components using a tape measure to maintain dimensional accuracy and alignment.
  • Follow all safety procedures when using tools, cranes, ladders, and lifts, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Collaborate with the Assembly Supervisor and team members to meet production goals and support new product focus areas, including radiators for data centers.

Essential Skills

  • At least 6 years of mechanical assembly experience in an industrial or similar environment.
  • At least 6 years of experience using power tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints for mechanical assemblies.
  • Proficiency in reading and using a tape measure accurately.
  • Experience operating an overhead crane to lift and move heavy components.
  • Comfort working at heights using ladders and scissor lifts.
  • A minimum of 18 months of continuous tenure with one employer within the past 5 years, demonstrating reliability and commitment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail in assembly work.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting and communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working in an assembly and fabrication shop environment.
  • Assembling large industrial equipment or heavy mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with leak testing procedures or quality checks on fluid systems.
  • Ability to adapt to changing production priorities, including a growing focus on radiators for data centers.
  • Strong safety mindset when working with cranes, lifts, and heavy components.

Work Environment

This role is based in an assembly and fabrication shop focused on building industrial radiators for warehouses, production facilities, and data centers. The facility is clean and organized, with defined assembly areas dedicated to component and full-unit builds. The position operates on a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The environment is not temperature controlled and can become hot during the summer months, so candidates should be comfortable working in varying temperatures. You will regularly use hand and power tools, overhead cranes, ladders, and scissor lifts, and you will report to an Assembly Supervisor while collaborating closely with a small team on the shop floor.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
