Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Heating Air Conditioning Technician role based in Knoxville, TN. The technician will install, maintain, and repair residential and light commercial HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and related equipment. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing system issues, performing troubleshooting, completing preventive maintenance, and ensuring all work meets safety and code requirements. The role involves responding to service calls, documenting work performed, explaining findings and recommendations to customers in clear terms, and providing options for repairs or upgrades. The technician will also work with the team to ensure efficient scheduling, maintain tools and company vehicles in good condition, and support a safe, respectful work environment.

We are offering a 2,500 sign on bonus after 30 days of employment.

Qualifications

  • Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving HVAC performance issues efficiently and safely.
  • Knowledge of plumbing fundamentals related to HVAC systems, including condensate drainage, piping, and related components.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance practices to inspect, clean, and tune HVAC equipment for optimal performance and longevity.
  • Understanding of EPA regulations and possession of EPA Section 608 certification (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe) for handling refrigerants.
  • Working knowledge of electricity as it applies to HVAC systems, including wiring, controls, motors, and safe use of testing instruments.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an HVAC trade program, apprenticeship, or equivalent field experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and ability to travel to customer sites in the Knoxville area.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment, work in varying weather conditions, and safely use ladders and power tools.
  • Clear, professional communication skills and a customer-focused approach when explaining work and recommendations.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call or rotating schedule for emergency or after-hours service when required.
