The Head Women's Flag Football Coach will lead the ONU women’s flag football team in their mission of “Winning Championships—Developing Champions.” This requires successful management of all phases of the flag football program: facilities, staff, finances, and constituent relations. The position also requires visionary leadership to strengthen the flag football program athletically, academically, spiritually, and through the service mission of the University.

  1. Implement discipleship initiatives to foster spiritual growth for student athletes.
  2. Schedule and supervise a fall and spring schedule.
  3. Recruit and maintain a minimum of 25 student athletes.
  4. Work within budgetary guidelines for all phases of the program.
  5. Arrange transportation for all games.
  6. Follow proper university procedures to schedule facilities for practice and competition.
  7. Provide coaching and supervision at all practices and matches.
  8. Provide players with proper practice opportunities and knowledge to improve their game.
  9. Coordinate the issuance, care, and inventory of equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
  10. Ensure the proper completion of all athletic training and medical forms required for participation.
  11. Support the academic progress for student athletes on the roster.
  12. Supply the sports information director with player rosters, team results, records broken, etc.
  13. Collaborate with the Assistant AD for Compliance to complete eligibility certification each semester.
  14. Follow department and university guidelines for purchasing, travel, and reimbursements.
  15. Adhere to the athletic department logo, colors, and fonts.
  16. Other duties as assigned by the athletic director.

  2. Possess successful college and or high school coaching experience.
  3. Possess personal characteristics such as vision and excellent communication skills.
  4. Demonstrate an understanding and sympathy for education in the Wesleyan tradition and Nazarene school sponsorship.
  5. Demonstrate an active relationship with Christ as expressed in faith and service, which is in accord with the mission of Olivet Nazarene University.
  6. Be a model of Christian discipleship as confirmed through active engagement in a local church, involvement in campus worship, and through a vibrant, current testimony.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assistant coach(es); Student Athletes.

EDUCATION
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required; master’s degree is preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The Flag Football Head Coach reports to the Director of Athletics. Practices and competitions are held on campus in the Snowbarger Athletic Park Complex and Ward Field. This is a 10-month position (August – May).

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
The salary range for this position is $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 and is based on experience and education.
