We are conducting a confidential search for a Head of National GPO to lead enterprise‑level engagement with one of the largest and most strategic payer organizations in the U.S. healthcare system. This senior, field‑based role serves as the enterprise account lead for a national Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) and its affiliated entities (PBMs, managed care, specialty pharmacies).


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior enterprise account director for a national GPO and all affiliated entities
  • Develop and execute a long‑term strategic account plan aligned to portfolio and payer objectives
  • Lead enterprise‑level contracting and negotiations, including rebates, value‑based arrangements, and access optimization
  • Navigate complex environments involving biosimilar competition, utilization management, and portfolio trade‑offs
  • Build and sustain executive‑level relationships (VP/SVP/President) across payer and trade organizations
  • Translate payer economics, reimbursement dynamics, and market insights into actionable enterprise strategy
  • Partner closely with Market Access, Trade & Distribution, Legal, Medical, and Franchise Leadership teams
  • Support launch readiness, lifecycle management, and long‑term access strategy across therapeutic areas


Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in U.S. market access, payer strategy, pricing, or reimbursement
  • Proven success leading a large, complex national payer or GPO relationship with Cigna, UnitedHealth, CVS Caremark, Ascent Health Services, Emisar Pharma Services, or Zinc Health Services
  • Deep understanding of U.S. payer dynamics, PBMs, GPOs, trade & distribution, and reimbursement
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and negotiation capabilities
  • Executive presence with the ability to influence without authority in a matrixed organization
  • Comfortable operating in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments
  • Willingness to travel
