.Job Title: Sr Electrical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr Electrical Engineer to design and develop robust electronic circuits and assemblies for embedded systems operating in demanding environments. This role is responsible for driving products from early requirements and system architecture through detailed design, validation, and production release. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with embedded hardware design, including analog and digital circuitry, power electronics, EMI/EMC compliance, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and collaborate with cross-functional development teams to deliver products from requirements definition through system architecture, detailed design, integration, validation, and production release.
  • Design and develop reliable electronic circuits and assemblies for embedded systems used in harsh or regulated environments.
  • Perform schematic capture and oversee PCB layout, ensuring DFM, DFT, and signal integrity best practices are followed.
  • Conduct technical design reviews and provide critical input across electrical and mechanical domains.
  • Ensure designs meet applicable EMI/EMC, functional safety, and environmental standards.
  • Troubleshoot complex hardware and system-level issues and perform structured root cause analysis using established methodologies.
  • Partner with manufacturing teams to support DFM initiatives and transition new designs into production.
  • Support field and production issues, including failure analysis and corrective actions.
  • Provide technical support during validation, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities as needed.
  • Support engineering change requests, deviations, and product enhancements.
  • Contribute technical input to proposals and RFQs, including effort estimates and risk identification.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians and promote engineering best practices.

Essential Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with embedded hardware design, including analog and digital circuit design, power electronics, power distribution, microcontrollers or microprocessors, and wired or wireless communication interfaces such as CAN, LIN, Ethernet, or Bluetooth.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and validate electronic component datasheets.
  • Proficiency with schematic capture, PCB layout, and circuit simulation tools.
  • Ability to use common lab and test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and multimeters.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware and system-level issues using data-driven approaches.
  • Familiarity with revision control systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in hardware or electrical engineering, ideally within embedded systems or regulated product environments.

Work Environment

  • This role operates in a hybrid work environment with onsite presence required an average of 3 days/week.

This is a Permanent position based out of Fond du Lac, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $125000.00 - $145000.00/yr.
