Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Gun Mission Module Technician (Field Technician 2) based out of Mayport Naval Station in Florida (Jacksonville area).

What You’ll get to Do:

Maintain and provide technical support will the US Navy’s Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Design, Engineering, Production and Sustainment (DEP&S) Program on Mission Module (MM) equipment for Mission Module (MM) equipment located at the Mission Module Readiness Center (MMRC) on Mayport Naval Station, with some travel to Navy Base Ventura County (NBVC) Pt Hueneme, Naval Base San Diego (NBSD) other Naval bases and deployed sites worldwide.

You will also get to:

  • Analyze and evaluate equipment relative to specified performance parameters

  • Perform hands-on scheduled maintenance on MM equipment.

  • Perform hands-on corrective maintenance, to include fault isolation.

  • Install and remove MM equipment on US Navy ships.

  • Support the assigned SKED/Maintenance Planner with planned maintenance system (PMS) management and execution.

  • Operate independently when supporting flyaway team maintenance and troubleshooting at various sites, both CONUS and OCONUS.

  • Perform physically demanding work, including working in tight, restricted‑access spaces, climbing 20‑ft ladders, standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lb parts or equipment, and operating a forklift.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.

  • Hands-on experience operating and maintaining Mk 50 Gun Weapon Systems and Mk 44/46 components on US Navy/Coast Guard Vessels, and USMC/Army vehicles is required.

  • Experience with Ship’s Maintenance and Material Management (to include using the 3M system), Preventive Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance (MFOM).

  • Must be willing to travel up to 25% both CONUS (continental U.S.) and OCONUS (outside the continental U.S.).

  • Must be able to perform physically demanding work, to include working in tight, restricted access spaces; must be able to climb 20 ft ladders and stand for long periods of time; must be able to lift 50 lbs. Also, must be able to pass basic DOT physical exam to obtain forklift license and pass proficiency tests.

  • US Citizenship and current/active DoD Secret Clearance are required. Must be able to maintain this level of clearance for continued employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience on LCS Class ships highly desired.

  • Experience with 30mm guns on the LCS Class, LPD-17 Class, USMC Advanced. Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAAV) or similar chain guns is highly desired.

  • Knowledge of Surface Warfare (SUW)and Mine Countermeasure (MCM) operations and systems.

Primary Level Salary Range: $48,400.00 - $80,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
