MajorDuties

  • Major Duties and Responsibilities: Lead the integration of the Intelligence Community (IC) on proactive economic security. Support the National Security Council as the IC focal point on proactive economic security. Support the Director of the Office of Economic Security and Emerging Technologies (OESET) by facilitating integration of the Intelligence Community's analytic, collection, counterintelligence and supporting capabilities. In concert with OESET leadership, serve as a primary advisor to the DNI, PDDNI, and MI on proactive economic security issues, including preparing them for policy meetings and foreign and domestic engagements. Ensure that high-quality talking points and supporting materials are delivered in a timely manner. Represent the DNI or Office on-related fora and conduct ongoing collaboration and outreach with stakeholders and partners across the ODNI, IC, Department of Defense, United States Government, and oversight organizations (e.g., Congress and OMB), as needed, to meet mission objectives. Perform personnel management responsibilities including for subordinate teams and cells, with a focus on building a high-performance workforce; promote team building and a collaborative work environment; ensure goals and performance objectives are understood; assess performance and provide timely feedback, recognition, and remediation. Brief senior IC and policy officials, Congressional members and other major stakeholders on proactive economic security-related analytic and collection enterprise issues and emerging trends. Maintain effective and collegial working relationships with NIC mission management teams and other ODNI counterparts to develop innovative approaches and provide structured recommendations focused on advancing integrated analysis and collection activities. Partner with other OESET groups to support OESET's proactive mission and ensure the IC is adequately postured to support economic security priorities. Lead, manage and drive the ODNI core values of Commitment, Courage, and Collaboration, and lead through example to ensure the efficient use of personnel and funding resources.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT You must be registered for the Selective Service, if applicable. You must be a U.S. citizen and at least 18 years of age. You must be willing to move to the Washington Metropolitan Area (WMA). You must successfully complete a medical and psychological exam, a polygraph interview, and a comprehensive background investigation. PROBATIONARY & TRIAL PERIODS Employees newly appointed to the Senior National Intelligence Service (SNIS) are subject to a twelve (12)-month probationary period to assess their ability to perform assigned duties and responsibilities at a level of excellence expected of a senior executive. For permanent employees newly hired into the ODNI, the probationary period will run concurrently with the first twelve (12) months of a new employee's two (2)-year trial period. EXECUTIVE CORE QUALIFICATIONS (ECQs) To meet the minimum qualification requirements for this position, you must show that you possess the five Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) and the Intelligence Community Senior Officer Core Qualification (ICSOCQ) in your resume.
