Role Overview
Our client is looking for a sharp, driven Graphic Designer who thrives in a high-touch, owner-led environment. This role works directly and closely with their founder and creative lead on day-to-day design execution — primarily menu design — while contributing to broader brand initiatives, special events, website, and social. The ideal candidate brings polish, a strong work ethic, and a genuine enthusiasm for AI tools as a creative partner, not just a convenience. Responsibilities
- Design, update, and optimize menus across all restaurant concepts with obsessive attention to detail, hierarchy, and sales effectiveness
- Work directly with the owner on creative direction — this includes real-time, in-office collaboration
- Leverage AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) proactively to improve menu layout, category ordering, and overall guest usability — and come to the table with findings
- Create graphics and illustrations for private events and member experiences — themed, branded, and polished
- Contribute to website design projects in collaboration with their digital team
- Support social content with illustration and graphic assets that align with brand identity
- Assist in developing brand guidelines for new restaurant concepts, including color palettes, typography systems, and logo direction
- Design physical touchpoints — cocktail napkins, physical menu books, collateral — with consistency and craft
- Partner with the marketing director on cross-functional creative reviews and projects
Qualifications
- 5+ years of graphic design experience, ideally in hospitality, food & beverage, luxury retail, or a design agency serving those verticals
- Expert-level proficiency in Adobe InDesign — menu design or print production background strongly preferred
- Strong Photoshop skills, including photo retouching, compositing, and image manipulation
- Demonstrated illustration ability or strong illustrative design sensibility
- A portfolio that shows genuine creative range — not just execution, but original ideas and elevated craft
- Genuine enthusiasm for AI tools as a creative and productivity asset — experience using Claude, ChatGPT, Midjourney, or similar tools proactively
- Comfort working in a dynamic, owner-led environment where priorities can shift and feedback is direct
- Strong work ethic with a perfectionist mindset — the kind of person who notices what others miss
- Ability to work fully on-site in Dallas, TX — this role requires daily in-office presence
