Graduate Assistant for Athletic Development - Annual Giving

The University of Indianapolis is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Assistant to support Athletic Development, with a focus on Annual Giving. This role is integral to driving fundraising efforts, building meaningful relationships with alumni and the broader UIndy community. The Graduate Assistant will play a key role in executing annual giving campaigns, managing constituent records and creating content that highlights the impact of philanthropic support to Greyhound Athletics. This position reports directly to the Associate Director of Athletic Engagement. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree and experience in athletics, fundraising, development, or non-profit operations are preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, and relationship-management skills are required.
  • Admittance to a University of Indianapolis graduate program prior to employment is required. 

 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Sports Administration, Marketing, Communications, or related field.

 

Key Responsibilities 

This position calls for but is not limited to the following:

  • Assist with the planning and execution of the Athletic Department’s annual giving initiatives and membership campaigns in support of the Greyhound Club.
  • Manage and execute phonathon efforts, including making outbound calls to alumni and supporters for initiatives like UIndy Day, to drive participation, engagement, and philanthropic support.
  • Support donor identification, cultivation, stewardship, and engagement efforts.
  • Maintain and organize alumni and donor information within the department database.
  • Assist in identifying prospective donors and sponsorship opportunities in collaboration with Athletic Development staff.
  • Assist with the creation and distribution of donor communications, including emails, letters, campaign materials, and donor impact stories.
  • Develop digital, video, and social media content promoting the Greyhound Club and Athletic Development initiatives.
  • Assist with student-athlete feature stories and other content highlighting the impact of donor support.
  • Manage and provide leadership to student workers assisting with development initiatives.
  • Attend and assist at home football and men’s and women’s basketball games.
  • Communicate professionally with alumni, donors, athletic administrators, coaches, student-athletes, and community partners.
  • Assist with additional Athletic Development initiatives and projects as assigned.
