To begin approximately May 1, 2026 or as soon, thereafter, as possible. Not to exceed May 31, 2027. Flexible hours and locations of work. Continuation dependent upon satisfactory performance and availability of funding.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work independently and as a member of a team to coordinate activities of the Investigator Development Core (IDC) of Ola HAWAII, a U54 grant based at the John A. Burns School of Medicine to support the development of health disparities research and researchers at the University of Hawai‘i.
- Coordinate weekly meetings of the IDC by developing the agenda, arranging the Zoom link for meetings, and drafting and distributing minutes.
- Attend other meetings of Ola HAWAII, including meetings with funders, advisors, and the leadership group.
- Coordinate Mentoring Bootcamp, an annual multi-session workshop providing grant-related training to investigators.
- Coordinate the pilot projects program, working with the team to develop the call for proposals, schedule informational webinars, select reviewers and coordinate receipt of proposal reviews, and report findings to Ola HAWAII leadership.
- Assist in organizing other events and trainings as needed.
- Collect and manage evaluation data.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Be a classified degree-seeking student in a Masters or PhD program under UHM Graduate Division;
- Be in good academic standing and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above
- Maintain 6 credits per semester with the exception of those who have reached 800 (dissertation) or 700F (thesis)
- Solid independent and collaborative work ethic;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Strong written and oral communication skills;
- Proficient with spreadsheets, word-processing and e-mail
- Must be available for weekly team meetings.

- PhD student;
- Research experience
