JOB TITLE: Global Compliance Specialist
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Manage regulatory compliance activities for consumer and automotive audio electronics across global markets, including the U.S., Canada, EU, Mexico, and other applicable regions.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute certification and homologation efforts for products subject to FCC, ISED, CE/RED, UKCA, NOM, IC, Bluetooth SIG, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and support supplier certificates such as ISO, IATF, RoHS, REACH, Prop 65, TSCA, Conflict Material, etc.
- Act as the primary interface with third‑party test laboratories, certification bodies, and regulatory agencies; review test plans, quotes, reports, and certificates for technical accuracy and completeness.
- Interpret regulatory standards and requirements (e.g., EMC, RF, safety) and translate them into actionable requirements for engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Support product development by providing compliance guidance during concept, design, validation (DV/PV), and production phases.
- Review and approve regulatory documentation, including declarations of conformity, technical files, test reports, labeling artwork, user manuals, and packaging content.
- Identify compliance risks and proactively communicate gaps, mitigation plans, and schedule impacts to cross‑functional stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong communication and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Able to be customer facing and work across multiple team dynamics.
- Must be able to work onsite in a team environment.
- Able to handle multiple projects.
- Proficient in Windows and Microsoft office applications.
- 3-5 years experience in consumer electronics regulatory compliance.
REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Electrical Engineering degree will help, but not a must
- Automotive certification experience a plus.
- Mobile electronics certifications a plus.
- Knowledge of electronics engineering and manufacturing a plus.
- Experience with Document Control Systems (PLM, ERP, etc.) a plus.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are a must
- Proficiency in full Microsoft suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT, etc) expected
