- 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM (10% shift differential)

Position Overview
The Quartz Welder / Glassblower fabricates high-precision quartz components used in semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This role requires expert-level skill in shaping, welding, and assembling quartz parts to exacting tolerances while maintaining strict adherence to safety, quality, and cleanliness standards. Work includes hands-on torch welding, operation of specialized fabrication equipment, and consistent execution of repeatable processes in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex quartz welding, forming, and sealing operations using hydrogen/oxygen torches and related tools.
- Fabricate delicate, high-precision quartz assemblies according to engineering drawings, customer specifications, and semiconductor industry standards.
- Operate quartz fabrication equipment including lathes, CNC or semi‑automated forming tools, annealing ovens, and robotic handling systems.
- Inspect workpieces using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and visual inspection criteria to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality compliance.
- Follow established work instructions, travelers, and process documentation to ensure consistency and repeatability.
- Perform annealing, stress‑relief, and cleaning processes to maintain structural integrity of quartz components.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with OSHA, EHS, and company safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve fabrication challenges and improve processes.
- Document production data, nonconformances, and material usage in manufacturing systems (ERP/MES).
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing and 5S activities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of hands‑on quartz fabrication or scientific/industrial glassblowing experience, preferably in a semiconductor or high‑precision manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to perform complex quartz welding and forming tasks with high accuracy.
- Proficiency operating quartz fabrication equipment such as lathes, hydrogen/oxygen torches, annealing ovens, and automation/robotic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.
- Strong understanding of thermal properties of quartz and proper annealing techniques.
- Experience working in a production environment where consistency, repeatability, and tight tolerances are critical.
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and ability to work with delicate materials.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to bend, stoop, walk, sit, reach overhead, and perform repetitive motions.
- Regularly lift and handle materials up to 50 lbs.
- Stand for extended periods during fabrication tasks.
- Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, temperature changes, moving machinery, and quartz materials.
- Ability to wear PPE including safety glasses, gloves, respirators (if required), and protective clothing.
- Willingness to work overtime or adjusted shifts based on production needs.
