Job Title: Traveling General Production Worker - WEEKLY PAY

Job Description

This is a traveling General Production role on a 6–9 month project, with the possibility of extension. You will operate production machinery, perform hand assembly and packaging of finished products, and complete minor adjustments to machines and equipment while following all work instructions and safety rules. The position focuses on loading and offloading components, monitoring multi-station machines, and inspecting parts to ensure high-quality output that meets customer specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Operate production machinery and equipment to produce quality products in accordance with customer specifications and documented procedures.
  • Perform hand assembly, sealing, and packaging of finished products while maintaining consistent quality and efficiency.
  • Load assembly machines and multi-station machines with components, including loading parts into hoppers and ensuring continuous material flow.
  • Offload finished or in-process parts from machines and prepare them for the next stage of production or inspection.
  • Inspect parts visually and dimensionally as required to verify quality, identify defects, and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Make minor adjustments to machinery and equipment, such as clearing jams or adjusting feeds, to maintain smooth and safe operation.
  • Follow detailed work instructions, safety rules, and standard operating procedures at all times.
  • Read and understand accurate electronic and paper documentation related to production, quality, and safety.
  • Follow direction provided by the Production Lead and Production Supervisor, including participating in Tier Meetings and daily communication huddles.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, supporting a climate-controlled and highly structured production environment.
  • Report equipment issues, quality concerns, and safety hazards promptly to appropriate personnel.
  • Support overtime and varying shifts as needed to meet production demands during the project.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of experience operating production or manufacturing machinery.
  • Minimum of 1 year of assembly experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience performing quality inspection of parts.
  • Proficiency in machine operation, including loading, monitoring, and offloading parts from multi-station machines.
  • Hands-on experience with assembly, production, and inspection tasks in a shop or plant setting.
  • Ability to perform basic mechanical tasks and minor machine troubleshooting to keep equipment running effectively.
  • Ability to read and understand electronic and paper documentation, including work instructions and production records.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, including experience with quality inspection practices.
  • Ability to follow directions from production leadership and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime, including up to 50 hours per week after training, within a maximum of 12 hours per day.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with blueprint reading and interpreting basic mechanical or production drawings.
  • Experience working with multi-station or automated assembly equipment.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and machinery.
  • Ability to identify and communicate equipment or quality issues quickly and accurately.
  • Comfort working in a highly organized, process-driven, and safety-focused environment.
  • Interest in learning additional skill sets within the facility and growing into more advanced roles.

Work Environment

The work takes place in a climate-controlled, very clean, and safe shop that is well organized and process oriented. Standard shifts include: 1st shift Monday–Thursday from 5:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., 2nd shift Monday–Thursday from 4:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., a 3rd shift Monday–Thursday from 7:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. dedicated to maintenance, and a weekend shift Friday through Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Overtime is available, with the ability to work up to 50 hours per week after a short training period, and no more than 12 hours in a single day. The facility supports work on projects for the military and emphasizes a safe, structured production environment. Appropriate personal protective equipment is required, including steel-toe or closed-toe footwear, hearing protection, and eye protection.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.50 - $24.00/hr.
