Job Title: General Production WorkerJob DescriptionThis role offers an excellent entry point into manufacturing, with full training provided and clear opportunities to progress your career. As a General Production Worker, you support safe, efficient, and high-quality production processes by operating equipment, completing documentation, and following established procedures and standards. You work closely with supervisors, laboratory staff, and colleagues to maintain product quality, accurate records, and a clean, well-organized work area.
Responsibilities
- Follow all company Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times to maintain a safe working environment.
- Report defective equipment promptly and escalate any accidents or incidents without delay.
- Perform quality control tests and inspections where required and report any deviations or non-conformances to the Supervisor.
- Accurately complete all production paperwork, including details of ingredients used in each blend, additional instructions, and required sign-offs.
- Adhere to the production schedule as set by the Production Supervisor to ensure on-time delivery and efficient workflow.
- Record all production transactions in SAP / SFoL accurately and in a timely manner to support precise stock control and traceability.
- Support and train new starters on the job, once fully trained and competent, to help develop both the department and the individual.
- Participate actively in continuous improvement activities, including 5S, to enhance safety, efficiency, and organization.
- Generate and share ideas for process and departmental improvements and participate in implementing agreed changes.
- Collect process samples and collaborate with laboratory personnel to ensure timely analysis and feedback.
- Maintain required log sheets, including but not limited to batch tickets, packaging sheets, scrubber operation logs, pH meter calibration records, and equipment inspection forms.
- Attend required Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) training, including Hazardous Waste Management, emergency response, and Hazard Communication, and demonstrate a solid understanding of these topics.
- Package, mark, and label Hazardous Waste containers in line with regulatory and company requirements.
- Operate equipment and follow documented procedures in accordance with ISO 9001 and relevant occupational health and safety standards.
- Use hand tools, production machinery, and other equipment safely and correctly as part of daily production tasks.
- Work to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, especially when working in cleanroom or controlled environments.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping to keep work areas clean, organized, and free from unnecessary hazards.
- Collaborate effectively with engineering, sales, technicians, and other internal teams by communicating technical information clearly and concisely.
Essential Skills- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least 2 years of applicable experience, with chemical manufacturing experience highly preferred.
- Experience working in a cleanroom or clean-room environment.
- Ability to operate general production and manufacturing equipment safely and effectively.
- Experience with general labor, machine operation, and basic hand tools.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, including extrusion and polymer-related production, is highly beneficial.
- Ability to perform visual inspection and quality checks with strong attention to detail.
- Comfort working under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards and in controlled environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information effectively and concisely to engineering, sales, technicians, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to understand and follow written instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Basic numeracy skills to complete documentation, measurements, and production records accurately.
- Capability to use or learn systems such as SAP / SFoL for reporting production transactions.
- Commitment to good housekeeping and maintaining a clean, organized work area.
- Ability to work effectively as a team player while also using own initiative to complete tasks.
- Positive communication style and willingness to collaborate with colleagues at all levels.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Previous experience in chemical manufacturing or polymer production environments.
- Familiarity with extrusion processes and handling polymers.
- Experience working in a cleanroom environment with strict cleanliness and contamination control standards.
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and 5S or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with ISO 9001 quality management systems and occupational health and safety standards.
- Exposure to hazardous waste handling, packaging, marking, and labeling procedures.
- Ability to collect and handle process samples and work effectively with laboratory personnel.

Work Environment
You work in a well-lit, clean, and organized production facility that follows Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), ISO 9001, and occupational health and safety standards. The role involves operating production equipment, using hand tools, and working around polymers and chemical manufacturing processes, sometimes in cleanroom or controlled environments. You maintain detailed logs, interact with laboratory personnel, and follow clear procedures for safety, quality, and hazardous waste handling. The standard schedule is Monday to Friday, with a choice of an 8:00 a.m. or 9:00 a.m. start time, providing a consistent daytime work pattern and the potential for overtime at premium rates.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
