Job Title: Production Worker – Control Room Equipment Operator
Job Description

The Production Worker operates critical equipment in the Control Room under the direction of the Production Supervisor. This role focuses on safely starting and monitoring production units, sampling gas during processing cycles, and accurately completing documentation for delivery to the end customer. The position is hands-on in an industrial manufacturing environment and supports consistent, high-quality thermal processing services across multiple shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Operate production equipment in the Control Room under the direction of the Production Supervisor.
  • Start, monitor, and shut down units according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Sample gas during production cycles and follow defined protocols to ensure accurate readings.
  • Complete all required production and quality documentation accurately and on time for delivery to the end customer.
  • Perform basic machine operation and adjustments to maintain efficient and safe production.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment and work areas to identify potential issues or abnormalities.
  • Assist with basic troubleshooting of equipment and process issues and escalate concerns when necessary.
  • Support assembly and related production tasks as needed to meet daily output requirements.
  • Operate a forklift when required to move materials or products safely within the facility, following all safety procedures.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area in the Control Room and production floor.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding equipment status, production issues, and documentation needs.
  • Adhere to shift schedules and collaborate with a small production team across all three shifts to ensure consistent operations.
Essential Skills
  • 1–2 years of basic machine operation experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • 1–2 years of production experience, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • 1–2 years of documentation experience related to production, quality, or process tracking.
  • Ability to perform inspection tasks and visually verify equipment and product conditions.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for equipment and process issues.
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate a forklift safely, following facility guidelines.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time in an industrial environment.
  • Manual dexterity to perform accurate data entry and handle production-related tasks.
  • Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform production and equipment duties.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds as part of daily tasks.
  • Cognitive and mental capacity to understand and perform essential job functions consistently and safely.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills for interaction with team members and completion of documentation.
  • Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, and equipment indicators.
  • Ability to hear and communicate in person and via phone in a manufacturing environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working in a standard manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Comfort working in areas that may involve exposure to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity.
  • Familiarity with thermal processing or similar process-driven production environments is a plus.
  • Experience working on small production teams across multiple shifts.
  • Willingness to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift as needed by the operation.

Work Environment

This role is based in a standard manufacturing environment that can become very warm during the summer months and may involve exposure to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity. The production team is small on all three shifts, fostering close collaboration and clear communication. One opening is available per shift: 1st shift (7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.), 2nd shift (3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.), and 3rd shift (11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.). Work is primarily performed in a standing position, with regular bending, pulling, stooping, and reaching. Employees wear jeans or work pants with safety-toe shoes in accordance with facility safety requirements, and they use standard manufacturing equipment, control room systems, and data entry tools as part of daily operations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
