Job Title: General Production Worker
Job Description

The General Production Worker supports end-to-end manufacturing of magnet wire on fully automated production lines. This role focuses on preparing raw materials, monitoring automated equipment, performing basic machine adjustments and quality checks, and safely moving materials and finished products throughout the facility. You will work with continuous production lines that shape, coat, cure, and spool wire, ensuring consistent quality and efficient operation in a clean, growing manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Handle raw materials and prepare them for production according to established procedures.
  • Load production lines by feeding raw wire into the automated equipment as required.
  • Read and interpret specification sheets to set up machines with the correct parameters.
  • Operate fully automated, continuous production lines and monitor them while running.
  • Troubleshoot basic machine issues during operation and escalate more complex problems when needed.
  • Pull in-process enamel samples and perform basic quality checks to ensure product meets specifications.
  • Use the HMI touchscreen to monitor line performance and verify quality and process conditions.
  • Accurately document all required in-process updates and production information by hand.
  • Use an overhead crane to move finished spools of wire safely and efficiently.
  • Operate a forklift approximately 15% of the time to move raw materials and finished products around the facility and to the warehouse.
  • Perform general material handling tasks, including loading, unloading, packaging, and staging products.
  • Inspect products and packaging for defects or nonconformities and take appropriate corrective actions.
  • Use basic hand tools and demonstrate mechanical aptitude to support machine operation and minor adjustments.
  • Follow all safety procedures and work safely with minimal direct supervision.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and support overall production efficiency.
  • Work effectively on an assembly line and in a team-based production environment.
  • Support additional production, assembly, and inspection tasks as assigned by leadership.
Essential SkilOur Client
  • Ability to work safely and follow established safety procedures without constant supervision.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout a 12-hour shift.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a 2/2/3 schedule (including days or nights as assigned).
  • Willingness to be trained and certified on a forklift; prior forklift experience is not required.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand written work orders and instructions in English.
  • General labor or production experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or construction environments.
  • Ability to perform basic quality inspection and follow quality standards.
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with machinery and automated equipment.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools safely and correctly.
  • Ability to read and understand basic measurements, such as using a tape measure.
  • Strong attendance and reliable work history with solid tenure at previous employers.
  • Capability to work in a loud and sometimes hot manufacturing environment while maintaining focus and attention to detail.

  • Previous experience as a machine operator, production worker, or general production associate.
  • Experience in assembly line work, packaging, loading, and unloading materials.
  • Prior forklift certification or forklift operating experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with quality inspection, packing, and general manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read blueprints or basic production documentation.
  • Experience using HMIs or touchscreens to monitor or adjust machine settings.
  • Troubleshooting experience with basic mechanical or production issues.
  • Strong soft skills, including teamwork, communication, and a willingness to learn.
  • Interest in long-term career growth and learning new technologies and production lines.
  • Comfort working in a non-union, traditional manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

The facility is a clean, traditional manufacturing environment with fully automated, continuous production lines for magnet wire. Some areas can be loud and hot depending on the department, and employees must be comfortable working around running machinery and vertical ovens. The site is in a growth phase, with plans to expand the building, add warehouse space, and install new production lines, offering exposure to new technology. Work is performed on 12-hour shifts following a 2/2/3 schedule, with a first shift from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and a third shift from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. Team members regularly use overhead cranes, forklifts, and hand tools, and spend most of their time on their feet performing material handling, monitoring equipment, and conducting quality checks in a fast-paced production setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Franklin, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.11 - $22.36/hr.
