UPMC is looking to hire a Full-Time, Carpenter (Night Shift) to support the hospital in Carlisle.
Candidates must have carpentry experience or be a recent carpentry trade grad to be considered.
Schedule: Sunday- Wednesday 9:00pm-7:00am (Night Shift)
You will need to provide your own hand tools and UPMC will provide power tools and any special tools required to complete the job.

Final candidate will be hired within career ladder based on education and experience.
Responsibilities:
· Maintain clean and safe work areas, equipment rooms and shop areas.
· Perform routine repairs including ceiling tile.
· Perform all work following infection control procedures.
· Perform any maintenance work required in which skills can be utilized.
· Perform related duties such as repair and install locks, install window glass, cut, fit and cement linoleum, lay resilient tile floors, etc.
· Perform rough and finished carpentry, i.e. build millwork, and construct casework.
· Record personal work orders and submit hours to supervisor in a daily basis.
· Repair furniture, window, floor or structural and architectural woodwork by measuring, sawing, squaring, fitting, sanding and nailing or other processes where articles require closely fitted parts.
· Responsible for setting up appropriate level of infection control containment (ICRA) based on risk level and maintaining the integrity of that containment.
· *Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
· *Performs other duties as assigned.
General Maintenance 2- Carpenter
Journeyman 1-Carpenter
High school diploma or GED required.
Trade school or trade specific multi-discipline certificate required.
Military experience considered.
2 years' carpentry experience working in a healthcare or commercial building environment.
Journeyman 2-Carpenter
High School diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an industry-recognized three-year apprenticeship program in carpentry or equivalent on-the-job training.
Two additional years of experience as a journeyman carpenter OR what is required by local governing authority.
Must be skilled with the use of all woodworking tools.
This training includes such skills as blueprint reading, shop arithmetic, knowledge of strength of materials and their characteristics.
Knowledge of building codes is essential.
May in the course of their duties be in rooms where medications are stored.
No contact with medications is allowed.
