Job Title: Equipment Wash Technician / General Laborer
Job Description

The Equipment Wash Technician is responsible for thoroughly cleaning, degreasing, and pressure washing construction machinery and related equipment in an outdoor wash bin or wash bay. This role helps ensure that all equipment meets cleanliness standards before repairs, inspections, or deployment to job sites, while consistently following safety and environmental guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-pressure washing, degreasing, and detailed cleaning of construction equipment such as skid steers, excavators, forklifts, loaders, trucks, and related attachments.
  • Safely operate pressure washers, hoses, cleaning chemicals, and other wash equipment according to established procedures.
  • Remove mud, dirt, debris, oil, and grease buildup from machinery surfaces and hard-to-reach areas.
  • Inspect equipment before and after cleaning to confirm that all surfaces are properly washed and meet cleanliness standards.
  • Maintain the wash bin and wash bay area by clearing debris, draining water when required, and following environmental and housekeeping guidelines.
  • Safely move or position equipment as needed; participate in any provided certification or training related to equipment movement.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe chemical handling, and awareness of slip and trip hazards.
  • Report any damage, defects, or equipment issues immediately to supervisors or maintenance teams.
  • Keep tools, hoses, and the work area organized, clean, and in proper working condition.
  • Support general warehouse and industrial operations as needed, including basic parts handling and inventory-related tasks.
  • Work independently while communicating effectively with team members to coordinate workflow and prioritize tasks.
  • Demonstrate consistent reliability, strong work ethic, and commitment to meeting cleanliness and safety expectations.
Essential Skills
  • Ability to perform high-pressure washing, degreasing, and heavy-duty cleaning tasks for extended periods.
  • Capability to work outdoors in various weather conditions in an industrial environment.
  • Comfort working around heavy machinery and construction equipment in a busy yard or warehouse setting.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, reaching, and moving equipment throughout the shift.
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures related to chemicals, hoses, and slip or trip hazards.
  • Strong attention to detail with a willingness to meet defined cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity.
  • Safety-focused mindset with consistent use of required PPE and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively as part of a small team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience with pressure washing, equipment cleaning, or general labor in an industrial or construction environment preferred but not required.
  • Experience in a warehouse environment, including basic inventory, tool room, or parts handling tasks, is a plus.
  • Mechanical awareness or familiarity with construction equipment is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, and consistent attendance.
  • Willingness to learn proper equipment handling and cleaning procedures through on-the-job training.

Work Environment

This role is based in a very industrial environment that distributes parts and equipment for construction companies. You will primarily work outdoors in an open wash bin or wash bay, with frequent exposure to water, cleaning chemicals, mud, dirt, and changing outdoor weather conditions. The broader facility is a non-climate-controlled warehouse, and the work involves regular interaction with heavy machinery and construction equipment. The typical shift runs from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or until the day’s work is completed, requiring flexibility to stay until tasks are finished. Personal protective equipment such as rubber boots, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection is provided and required to maintain a safe working environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Memphis, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
