Baker Firm PLLC is a growing fee attorney office providing legal services to title companies, lenders, and real estate professionals. Our practice focuses on supporting residential and commercial real estate transactions by ensuring legal compliance, accurate title review, and effective closing support.
We are seeking an experienced General Counsel / Fee Attorney with a strong background in real estate and title law to join our team. This role will provide legal guidance on real estate transactions, title matters, and regulatory compliance while supporting the operational needs of the title company’s clients, and is ideal for an attorney who understands real estate deal flow and wants to play a key leadership role in a fast-moving transactional environment.
What You'll Do:
- Provide legal oversight for residential and commercial real estate closings
- Review and certify title commitments, policies, and title opinions
- Handle title curative matters and risk issues
- Advise on real estate contracts, settlement documents, and compliance
- Support lenders, title staff, and real estate professionals through the closing process
- Ensure compliance with state real estate and title insurance regulations
What We're Looking For:
- J.D. and an active license in Texas
- Experience in real estate law, title insurance, or closing transactions
- Prior experience as a title company attorney or underwriting counsel
- Familiarity with title software and closing platforms
- Strong knowledge of title review, curative work, and closing procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume transactional environment
- Practical, solutions-oriented legal mindset
